[1] It is strongly suggested that an economics course and a psychology course be included here.
[2] Students are encouraged to complete Math 43 or Math 51, Physics 45, Stat 190 or Stat 116, and CS 106A by the end of their sophomore year in order that sequence courses in the I.E. Depth can be completed within a four-year undergraduate program. AP Units in Math, Physics, and Chemistry may be counted towards the Mathematics and Science Requirement. See Advanced Placement Credit, under the Policies and Procedures Section of this handbook.
[3] Unless EESOR 221 (Probabilistic Analysis) or Stat 116 (Theory of Probability) is taken prior to Autumn Quarter of the Junior year, it is nearly impossible to complete the BSIE degree requirements in four years.
[4] CS 106X can be substituted for CS 106A and CS 106B if the student has sufficient background. If this is done, CS 106X must be used to fulfill the Depth, not the Fundamentals requirement, and an additional Fundamental Course will be needed.
[5] Substitutions for the Engineering Depth requirement courses are not allowed.
